Aung San Suu Kyi on the move

Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi is travelling outside of the capital Rangoon for the first time since her release from house arrest last year. She is visiting the ancient temple city of Bagan with her son Kim Aris, who described the trip as a holiday.

Otto von Habsburg, the oldest son of Austria-Hungary's last emperor Charles I, has died at the age of 98. Von Habsburg, who was the long-time figurehead of one of Europe's most influential families, passed away in his sleep at his home in Poecking, Germany where he had lived in exile since the 1950s.

The continuing scandal surrounding British tabloid the News of the World intensified as allegations emerged that the paper had not only hacked into but also deleted messages from the phone of Milly Dowler, a 13-year-old schoolgirl abducted and murdered in 2002, potentially hampering police investigations. The claims have piled pressure on Rebekah Brooks (pictured), the paper's then editor, and now Chief Executive of the British arm of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, the world's second largest media organisation.
