Fürstenwalde, Germany: A cockchafer sits on a flower on May 4, 2011 in a garden in Fuerstenwalde, northeastern Germany. Due to the extensive use of pesticides, the population of chockchafers in Europe was almost exterminated in the middle of the 20th century, but is increasing again after a regulation of pest control.

Katherine, Australia: This handout photo taken on May 3, 2011 and obtained on May 4 shows Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Service wildlife rangers with a monster 15-feet saltwater crocodile caught in a popular tourist park at Donkey Creek near Katherine in Australia's Northern Territory.
Rangers had to use a four-wheel drive to drag the 600-kilo beast from its trap close to the Nitmiluk National Park and it was taken to a nearby crocodile farm where it will be used as a show animal.

Taipei, Taiwan: Anti-nuclear power plant demonstrators protest in Taipei on April 30, 2011. Thousands of Taiwanese took to the streets to protest against a new nuclear power station, as safety concerns mounted in the wake of the nuclear crisis in Japan, an organiser said.
