It was when she was auditioning for a Cadbury commercial that Shoojit Sircar approached her for 'Yahaan'.
She also appeared in a music video for the music album 'Aap Ka Suroor' by Himesh Reshammiya.
She earned the Filmfare Best Female Debut nomination for her performance in 'Yahaan'.
Her second film, 'Corporate', was a huge commercial success, and Minissha was lauded for her performance.
She appeared in Siddharth Anand's 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' in 2008. Her co-stars were Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor.

Her upcoming movies are 'Bheja Fry 2' and 'Hum Tum Aur Shabana'.
Minissha on 'Bheja Fry 2': "I had loved the first film and never knew that one day I'll be part of the sequel. So, when Sagar Ballary asked me, I agreed even before I considered the nitty-gritties. With actors like Vinay Pathak and Kay Kay Menon on board, it's a tall order that I had to keep up with. I play the role of a producer of a reality show. Bharat Bhushan participates in this show and turns out to be one person who gets a lot of support from me. Coincidences follow and he is convinced that I'm his 'ideal' woman."
She has been signed on for 'Mysticism'. The movie has 8 versions and is helmed by 4 directors.
She was once rumored to be dating her 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' co-star, Ranbir Kapoor.
Minissha was recently detained by customs authorities at the Mumbai international airport for carrying undeclared jewellery worth Rs.50 lakh.
Minissha on her ideal man: "I want a man who is completely real, and is a self-made man."
Minissha on romanticism and sensuality: "I think sensuality goes very well with romanticism. Therefore it's the more beautiful part of being sexual. It's the more emotional part of the idea of sexual. When women feel stressed, tired or run-down, they often lose the desire of being sensual. Take time to give your body a treat; indulge yourself and awaken your five senses of smell, sound, sight, touch and taste."
Minissha on art: "Michelangelo's sculpture, David, is very powerful. It is very sensual more than sexual. Some of Peter Paul Ruben's paintings are very sexual in nature."
Minissha on chocolates: "If anyone is willing to share his chocolates voluntarily with someone else, it means he really cares for that person. That's the bottom line. Chocolates will give you a major head start on any serious seduction and is one reason why chocolate is the absolute bestseller of all time for romantic holidays. I would love to do a photo shoot with melted chocolate all over my body. You see the sensuality in the picture the moment you see it but when it comes to taking it off your body, the last thing I'll do is to take a shower in the studio where the shoot is going on."
